Gabriel’s Inferno and Gabriel’s Rapture by Sylvain Reynard

*****

Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well-respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption. When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide. An intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love and redemption, "Gabriel's Inferno" is a captivating and wildly passionate tale of one man's escape from his own personal hell as he tries to earn the impossible...forgiveness and love.
Now these are good reads after Fifty Shades of Grey.  This story is based on a sexy professor who also you will learn has some power and a very angel-like female character contrast.  At first when I was reading this I was not sure if I could follow; it talks a lot about Dante’s work in literature, and I was no were near an English major. I was lost on the whole Dante talk but after reading I did Google it and I learned a little more because it was really sexy. The main male character Gabriel speaks a lot in what I call ‘Dante talk’ to his lady love and lost some of the enduring comments, but knowing that was nice - I at least understood that much.  I did like the journey of the story; it was well written and you did not know where things were going until you were right up on the situation.  It was an easy read and if you want something soothing and gentle this book is for you.
The first book not really any sexual content but the second not so much.  For adults only.
Let me know what you think?

Driven by hate, Kayla is determined to find a way into Nick's favor, find a way to make him trust her so she can find the heart of the devil and tear it apart before he captures hers. The Devil's Eyes is a Dark, Intense, Romance novel. Not your typical story of two perfect people coming together after overcoming a life challenge. No, Nick and Kayla are two imperfect people, trying to overcome the brutal realities of their worlds and finding life as criminals comes naturally to them both.

This Novel was a pleasant surprise, I was told about this book by searching for a contemporary romance through Google search.  I had no idea it was a multi-cultural romance until I read it, and it was a so real and refreshing romance story.  This well written romance not only focuses on the main charters but also features the main girl’s girlfriends and the main character's family. Now I want to hear what you have to say about the book; I enjoyed it, what about you?

Recovering from his own painful past, Gavin will stop at nothing to win Emily over.
This unexpected encounter compels Emily to question her decisions, forcing her to make a choice that will destroy friendships, shatter hearts, and forever change her life.
Somewhat Fifty Shades a Grey with better writing. I did enjoy this roller coaster ride it was similar to Fifty set of a billionaire main character and struggling female who just need emotional support. This was of course not same story of Fifty but of Gavin and Emily who what a and Dillion a love triangle. I gave it 5 stars had all the ohhs and ahhs I like in a romance novel.

Ok, this book is very Fifty Shades of Gray like book. Very Rich main character Brandon and Jocelyn who is finding her way in life they meet and the ride begins. I will not tell you to much about the story but will say if you are looking for something after Fifty Shades of Gray this is right up your alley.

Beautiful Disaster
by Jamie McGuire
✩✩✩✩✩

O.M.G. I loved this book, I was yelling at both Travis and Abby while reading.  There was some “you need Jesus moments to Travis”, and some “You really need to talk to someone about you issues with someone” to both characters.  When Abby was going through her back and for with Travis she was getting on my last nerve but I could not believe I was rooting for a man whore in the processes.  The author panted a good picture to understand that Travis has some deep rooted issues that for some reason was trying to work through them on his own with the fighting, schoolings, and his relationship with Abby.  I was like “come on you have got to be kidding me” during a certain seen in the book but yet I believe if I was Abby and trying to do the same thing and play like I did not care I would the same thing but I would for damn sure make him get tested! Favorite quotes:

“As worried as I was that you’d never speak to me again... I think it worse that you’re indifferent”.

This was said after the “incident” do not want to give away the story.

“Pigeon?” I said, “An annoying bird that craps all over the sidewalk.”
“You like Pigeon,” he said defensively. “It’s a dove, an attractive girl, a winning card in a poker, take your pick. You’re my Pigeon”

:-)

Ok to sum this up if you love fighters, tattoo wearing guys, Vegas gambling, the college experience, and some co-dependency going on you will love this book I know I did.  Travis is H.O.T with a badd ass Alpha male swagger and will fight for the one he loves...

Beautiful Disaster:
INTENSE. DANGEROUS. ADDICTIVE. 437 pages, language, fighting, sexual scene

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

On the Island
by Tracey Garvis-Graves (Goodreads Author)
✩✩✩✩✩  Loved this story...

While reading this story, it reads like a movie and a very believable one at that.  It is a very well written story that takes you on a journey and is very unique with very real situation that happened in our country.  Not to spoil the story, but there is an event in the book that has happened in real life.  At first when I read the description of the book, I was like, “oh God - am I going to have to put this book down” because there is mention of a young 15 year old stuck on an island with a 30 year old… I hate pedophiles.

I was pleasantly surprised how the whole story took place and learned some things about survival too in the process.  If you like a sweaty and intense love story with adventure, this book for you.

Genre: Contemporary Romance, 336 pages, for adults ages 18 and up

Description:

When thirty-year-old English teacher Anna Emerson is offered a job tutoring T.J. Callahan at his family's summer rental in the Maldives, she accepts without hesitation; a working vacation on a tropical island trumps the library any day. T.J. Callahan has no desire to leave town, not that anyone asked him. He's almost seventeen and if having cancer wasn't bad enough, now he has to spend his first summer in remission with his family - and a stack of overdue assignments - instead of his friends.

Anna and T.J. are en route to join T.J.'s family in the Maldives when the pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Adrift in shark-infested waters, their life jackets keep them afloat until they make it to the shore of an uninhabited island.

Now Anna and T.J. just want to survive and they must work together to obtain water, food, fire, and shelter. Their basic needs might be met but as the days turn to weeks, and then months, the castaways encounter plenty of other obstacles, including violent tropical storms, the many dangers lurking in the sea, and the possibility that T.J.'s cancer could return. As T.J. celebrates yet another birthday on the island, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man.

Rule

Rule book cover
WOW is what I’ve got to say about this book! I loved it! if you like “Beautiful Disaster”, by Jamie McGuire, you will love “Rule”; this was right up my ally with the “Alpha male” persona. He has tattoo’s, an attitude, and of course he had some psych issues to boot, but not w
ith out reach once Shaw gets a chance to break down those walls, and her issues are slowly breaking down too. I loved the story and at times I did sense some things coming, but overall, I shocked myself still loving the guy who is the man whore in the end.

I had loved Rule Archer since the first moment I ever laid eyes on him. He was everything I shouldn't want and the only person I went out of my way to not try and please. He only saw me as a brat, and an entitled, stuck up princess but worse than that all he saw when he looked at me was his deceased twins girl. It broke my heart because as much as I had loved Remy Archer there was never anything romantic between us and no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that loving Rule was a terrible idea, my poor heart just wouldn't listen. We tolerated each other, barely and had forged an uneasy alliance until one night I had too much to drink and changed the way we were forever. Suddenly life long secrets were no longer hidden and the one thing I always wanted for myself seemed attainable as long as I was willing to go through hell to hold onto it.

Shaw Landon was a class act and I had no idea what to do with her. She was tied to my family,
tied to the person that was my other half so I tolerated her and her haughty attitude when I didn't
have any other choice. What I didn't know was that a short skirt and too many cocktails on her
birthday was going to change my outlook on her for the rest of my life. Some people thought I
hid behind all my tattoos and piercings, that I tried to distance myself from my dead twin, Shaw
saw through it all and wasn't scared of what was underneath. We weren't supposed to be together, weren't supposed to be anything up uncomfortable acquaintances but that all changed in the blink of an eye. Now I had to figure out just how a girl like her and a guy like me were supposed to be in love without destroying each other. Add in her custom made ex and two disapproving sets of parents and the whole situation sounded like it was more trouble than it was worth.

Recommended for mature readers due to sexual content, language and drinking(less)
